In this video, I spill my heart out about the huge dilemma I faced having gone vegan as a cat owner.

Sorry the picture is out of focus until about halfway through. No idea what happened? I didn't change anything? :/

I'm Paul Kerton. Personal Trainer, Vegan Nutritionist and Public Speaker. Not so long ago, in a misguided attempt to try and grow muscle as quickly as possible, I ended up eating more animal products than probably anyone you've ever met. Through research, I came to learn the deleterious effects that eating even quite trivial amounts of animal products has on one's health and through personal experience, I found that far from being a hindrance to sports performance, a well planned vegan diet is actually optimal! Then with an open heart, I looked at how we treat animals in order for them to end up on our plates and it shook me to the core. I could not believe that for so long I fell for the lies that others tell us, that we tell ourselves, in order that we perpetuate this destructive behaviour. Destructive to ourselves, the beautiful, intelligent sentient beings that are here with us and indeed our planet. To try and put right my part in all of this I was compelled to overcome my fear of being filmed for YouTube and television, appearing on the radio and more recently public speaking. On a spiritual level, I've come to realise that my fellow man too is suffering. If I won't see harm come to a chicken I've never met then why would I be unkind to my brothers? If someone is being aggressive or unkind toward me, surely the suffering inflicted on them in the past is simply spilling over? Do I want to add to that, or can I step out of my ego long enough to forgive them and maybe break the cycle of negativity? This former, quick to anger "meat-head" bouncer has been on one transformative journey!

Reptiles often eat other animals and for some that can be a deal breaker. Are there any reptiles that only eat plants? Well yes, and these five make amazing pets!

Rdents for some people is a deal breaker so the logical alternative would be an herbivore reptile that only eats plants. Great news, there are several great salad munching animals to choose from. If you are into big reptiles a rock iguana or a rhino iguana might be the right option for you! Cyclura as a family are so interesting and unique. These big lizards can be amazing pets for the right keeper and they are 100% herbivores. A smaller but still sizable option if you're looking for an arboreal lizard might be a monkey tailed skink. Monkey tail skinks have a wicked prehensile tail and can have an amazing temperament for an arboreal species. of course these skinks only eat plants which makes the diet rather easy to take care of and overall these can be great pets! A more common vegan lizard would be a uromastyx. There are several species ranging from bright colours to more drab colors and small or large options too. All Uromastyx eat plants and seeds only making them great pet options for those keepers who want a really cool lizard buddy with super hot and dry environments. Tortoises can't be overlooked, well most of them. Red foots and other similar tortoises do eat some protein but most other tortoises are 100% plant based shell bois! Want something really unique? Chuckwalla lizards are really cool, come in many colors and of course that diet it is 100% leafy greens and other plants!

Recently I have been receiving a lot of questions about pets. Should vegans have them? Should anyone own anyone else, human or not? Are you a hypocrite if you have pets but also fight for animal liberation?

I may be slightly biased as someone who shares my home with two wonderful adopted cats, but I'm going to jump into this question all the same.

What are your thoughts on vegans (or anyone for that matter) having pets/companion animals? Let me know in the comments below!

Alongside a growing trend of veganism, more cat owners now want to share their animal-friendly values with their feline companions.

That preference sparks a serious question that scientists, vets and vegans' can't agree on - can cats be vegan?

BBC News has been to see Joanna Farr, an owner with two vegan cats.

Vegan in Paris! A whole day of eating & drinking only plant-based foods in Paris & some tips and tricks for you!

Hellloo lovelies (:
The second video in our little paris series is a where to eat in Paris (vegan edition).

Quick disclaimer: I was fully vegan for 6 years and I now eat sustainable fish & eggs occasionally. On our trip I tried dairy for the first time in years as I didnโ€™t want my diet choices to dictate our trip too much. My partner isnโ€™t vegan but is when heโ€™s with me (: This was my second time in Paris whilst vegan, and it hasnโ€™t gotten easier since last time. Iโ€™ll link all the places mentioned before and any other places we visited throughout the trip with great options!

My top tips for travelling to Paris as a vegan:
โญ๏ธ Buy a little bottle of dairy free milk to enjoy with your coffee either in your hotel or at cafes (as itโ€™s not common for places to offer any alternative milks to full cream!) the little coffee carts around paris usually have options, my favourite was Cafe Kitstume!

โญ๏ธ Have a few places in mind of where to eat in the general area youโ€™re heading each day & check their menus before

โญ๏ธ Make a trip to one of the vegan/gf bakeries and buy some croissants for the next few days so you can experience the Parisian breakfast properly each morning if there isnโ€™t one nearby where youโ€™re staying โ˜บ๏ธ

โญ๏ธ & finally, donโ€™t beat yourself up if you want to try something that has dairy, eggs etc. in it, youโ€™re travelling - enjoy it and donโ€™t let what good you do the other 364 days of the year taint your Parisian experience!
