There are plenty of good reasons to avoid consuming meat from factory farms. However, WE may well do so, but what about our pets? Should we feed our cat or dog a vegan diet? In this interview with Dr Katrien Devolder (Oxford) for @Practical Ethics Channel , Dr Josh Milburn (Sheffield) explains what options there are for feeding our companion animals an ethically acceptable (or preferable) diet - from vegan food, to pet food made from invertebrates, and in vitro meat (and, yes, even in vitro human flesh!)
Hi, I'm Melissa. I'm a 25 year old vet student, and for the last few years I've been living in a camper I renovated! I love animals, good food, travel, and living life to the fullest. Today I show you a typical day in my quarantine life as a high raw vegan. I usually follow the “Raw til 4” style, so I don’t eat anything cooked until dinnertime.

On the way back, they shop at a Cambodian market for mangoes, which Anji uses for some yummy fruit tacos. But wait, there's more! Avoiding high-emission foods can have a bigger climate impact than any other consumption change.
Our consumption habits emit billions of tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Our diets account for one-fourth of those emissions.
The food we eat emits so many greenhouse emissions because of the land it takes to grow it, but it also has something to do with biology. This video explains why the production of some foods emit more than others, and which foods to avoid to be a more climate-conscious consumer.

About Mayim Bialik:
You might know me as Amy Farrah Fowler from The Big Bang Theory or from Blossom but there are so many other parts of me that you might not be aware of! I’m trained as a neuroscientist, I'm a passionate activist, an observant Jew, a perfectly imperfect mother, and I'm a complicated human being like many of you. This is the place where I wear all of those hats - and none of them have a flower on them! ;)
