Eating a plant-based diet improves the health of your gut so you are better able to absorb the nutrients from food that support your immune system and reduce inflammation. Fiber can lower cholesterol and stabilize blood sugar and it's great for good bowel management.

I want to acknowledge the indigenous land that I was on for the duration of my stay - While here for about a week, my intention was to leave as little of a mark as possible, acknowledging my positionality & knowing that I am just a temporary visitor on this land that is not my home- supporting indigineous farmers and businesses whenever possible & spending my days outside, gently in nature. I visited last month & will not be returning anytime soon so as to honor the island’s wishes. Thank you for having me and giving me the space to heal and shed. I am eternally grateful.

Lek is doing a great job trying to convince people in the village to recycle garbage. People don't really care here, they don't understand and it will take time. I am really grateful to have her by my side!

There are plenty of good reasons to avoid consuming meat from factory farms. However, WE may well do so, but what about our pets? Should we feed our cat or dog a vegan diet? In this interview with Dr Katrien Devolder (Oxford) for @Practical Ethics Channel , Dr Josh Milburn (Sheffield) explains what options there are for feeding our companion animals an ethically acceptable (or preferable) diet - from vegan food, to pet food made from invertebrates, and in vitro meat (and, yes, even in vitro human flesh!)

I've been practicing latte art lately. It's so much fun! I need more practice💪
If you have any tips, please share with me!

The preference of the strength of the matcha flavor will be different from person to person. Please adjust to your liking.

Matcha Latte (for 2 per)
1-2 tsp matcha powder
2 tbsp hot water
2 cups milk
1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Vegan Matcha Latte
Use 1 cup of coconut milk and 1 cup of unsweetened plant-based milk (my favorite is almond milk) instead of 2 cups of milk.

Snail Mucin is one of the trending ingredients in K-Beauty, but not really an option if you want to use a vegan skincare routine. Good thing that brands like Vegreen offer alternatives. But are the Vegreen Fragrance-Free Nature Mucin Serum and Alcohol-Free Nature Mucin Toner any good? Let's see!

As doctor passionate about skin care that delivers results I want to help you quickly and efficiently pick a skin care regime that works, by explaining the science behind skin and by sharing quick product reviews.
I am a big believer that creating a skincare routine that targets your specific concerns is not a matter of your budget. There are many great affordable brands out there: The Inkey List, Good Molecules, Geek & Gorgeous or pixi skincare to name a few of my favorites, and if you know how to combine them, you are well on your way to healthy and happy skin.
Healthy and happy skin does not mean "flawless" - whatever that might be. I have been struggling with acne, hyperpigmentation and postinflammatory erythema (PIH and PIE) for most of my adult life, and it took me a while to figure out that gentle is key. I went through a retinol damaged skin barrier, acne flare ups and sun damage until I finally reached my happy place: With Tretinoin, sunscreen and of course a red lipstick!
